Course outline:
Year 1
- Level 3 EAL Diploma in On-Aircraft Maintenance
- Essential Skills Wales qualifications: Digital Literacy & Employability Skills
- 4 days per week at ICAT / 1 day per week at Caerdav (Wednesday – transport provided)
Year 2 / Year 3
- Paid apprenticeship with Caerdav, St. Athan
- Level 3 NVQ Extended Diploma in Aeronautical Engineerin
The course delivers:
- An accelerated pathway into a career in aircraft maintenance, reducing the apprenticeship by up to 12 months
- Access to ICAT’s cutting-edge training facility and expert trainers
- Vital teamwork, communication and IT skills
- A bespoke, collaborative training experience designed to meet specific operational requirements – meaning candidates graduate ‘ready to work’
Entry requirements:
- Applicants must be aged 16 – 19
- 5 GCSEs Grade A* - C (including Maths and English A* - B (or equivalent)
- Or a suitable Level 2 Engineering qualification at Distinction grade or above with either an appropriate Maths unit graded Distinction or above, or GCSE Grade A* - B
- The right to live and work in the UK
