MEET THE TEAM

Though Bruce Dickinson is Caerdav's company Chairman, his other commitments often keep him away from our base at St. Athan. However, our experienced and dedicated senior team are all on hand, ready to help you and your business. Allow us to introduce them to you:

Chris Coleman

Managing Director

A proud Welshman, Chris has been with Caerdav for more than 10 years. Originally joining as the company’s Finance Manager, his dedication and passion for the business has seen him rise to MD.

Fascinated by all things aviation from a young age, Chris would love to sit at the end of the runway watching aircraft take off and land. Taking that fascination into his working life, he feels honoured to be leading a local business on a global scale, working with an incredible team.

Fun fact: Chris suffered an injury playing in a football tournament at Cardiff’s Millenium Stadium soon after it opened, becoming the first person ever to break a bone playing in new home of Welsh national sport.

Adesanya Ogunnupe

Stores and Procurement Manager

A supply chain professional with more than a decade of experience in the aviation industry, Adesanya has worked with MROs in both the commercial and business jet sectors. His first job in aviation was supposed to be a temporary thing, but once hooked he never looked back.

Adesanya takes great pride in being part of a team that’s responsible for the safety and airworthiness of an aircraft, helping to ensure it can fly safely from one destination to another. He singles out Caerdav’s diverse culture, team spirit and supportive nature as key factors in why the business stands out against its competitors.

Fun fact: Adesanya is adventurous on the dancefloor, though he only shows off his moves when the occasion calls for it!

Bill Laing

Facilities Manager

With a background in buildings and maintenance, Bill joined Caerdav in 2017 to help maintain our ‘Twin Peaks’ facility. As Caerdav has grown, so has Bill’s role, adapting our hangars and ground support equipment to meet the needs of our customers and the business.

To Bill, every day offers a new challenge, but thanks to Caerdav’s experienced team and its ability to deliver for customers, we are able to offer genuine flexibility in a dynamic and highly competitive industry.

Fun fact: Bill is a master brewer, owning his own nano brewery and producing a range of delicious craft beers.

Janice Nash

Head of Safety Management & Compliance Monitoring

Growing up near RAF St. Athan (which is now our home) and Cardiff Airport, aviation has always played a big part in Janice’s life. After taking an interest in aeronautical engineering whilst studying for her GCSEs and A-Levels, she was offered an apprenticeship with British Airways in 1999 and her career in the industry began.

Upon graduation, Janice was employed as an Avionic Mechanic at BAMC, subsequently working at various Part 145, Part 21, Part M and AOC organisations, before joining Caerdav – a role that allows her to share her experience with customers and cultures from all over the world.

Fun fact: A busy mum of three teenagers, Janice still finds time to hit the gym working hard on strength and conditioning.

Karen Whittaker

Planning & Logistics Group Manager

Karen wanted to work in engineering from the age of 13 – which for a girl in the 1980s was not a widely accepted career choice. Overcoming these challenges, she trained to become an Airframe Mechanic in 1985 and went on to become a highly qualified Technician and Team Leader. Across her varied career she has worked on various aircraft types, ranging from the Hawk, Harrier and F16 to Dominee, Andover, VC10 and Jetstream, as well as working in managerial roles in other industries.

One of the most experienced members of our team, Karen says Caerdav is unique in the industry, built on a core foundation of goodwill, hard work, trust and tenacity, which doesn’t aim to replicate any competitor's ways of working.

Fun fact: Karen won her battle with the education system to allow girls to attend metalwork and engineering-based courses at O-Level, becoming the first girl at her school to gain a qualification in metalwork and not home economics!

Lee Reynolds

Finance Director

Though hugely experienced in the world of finance, Lee is relatively new to the aviation industry and has been relishing the challenge of a new direction in his career – not least the fact that every day at Caerdav is different to the last, adding a little excitement to proceedings!

Attracted to business for its ‘local feel’ in a global market, Lee is relishing the role he has in helping Caerdav play its part in rejuvenating the fortunes of our corner of South Wales.

Fun fact: With a keen interest in fitness, Lee has completed a number of triathlons.

Paul Nash

Base Maintenance Manager

With Paul’s father being a Machinist Engineer in the RAF, he was brought up in a household where tinkering away on cars and motorcycles was an everyday occurrence. With engineering in his blood, Paul followed in his father’s footsteps and joined the RAF himself as an Airframe Mechanic in 1983, subsequently spending 12 years working in various locations around the world.

Celebrating the recent growth of the business, Paul now plays an important role in Caerdav’s Apprenticeship Programme, helping to develop the next generation of aviation talent.

Fun fact: Not really ‘fun’, but whilst in the RAF, Paul was sent to Lockerbie to help with the clean-up operation following the terrorist bombing of Pan Am flight 103 – a surreal time that he often thinks back on.

Richard Pitts-Robinson

Commercial Director

At the age of six, Richard would give tours to his friends around his father’s Microlight aircraft, developing a connection and love for all things aviation that would eventually become a career.

With more than a decade of experience in the industry, Richard joined Caerdav in 2020, excited by our independence and an ability to forge our own path in the world of MRO. Having Bruce Dickinson as company Chairman provides a great USP from a commercial perspective, but Richard learned very quickly that the friendly, family feel Caerdav is known for comes from the very top, with Bruce always taking time to talk to everyone when on site.

Fun fact: Richard once had a song that was released in Virgin Megastores – sadly, we’re told it’s not on Spotify.

Robert Jordan

Production Manager

Joining the RAF in 2002 with the goal of seeing the world, Robert has worked in aviation ever since. A Licensed Engineer across a number of aircraft types, Robert has played a key role on the hangar floor at ‘Twin Peaks’, helping the business grow into the global force it is today.

Robert strongly believes that there is no company like Caerdav in Wales, and despite facing some significant challenges in the past, thanks to the team around him we’ve conquered those challenges and continue to move forward.

Fun fact: Robert is a bit of a forager, always looking for plants and mushrooms to make homebrewed cider or elderflower and nettle beer.

Traceylee Gaskin

Head of HR

A hugely experienced HR professional, Traceylee got her first taste of aviation with a short-term contract with Emirates a number of years ago. In awe of the technical and engineering genius behind modern aircraft, she returned to the industry on a permanent basis with Caerdav in January 2023.

Seeing the work ethic, high standards and support for each other across every team in the business, Traceylee has spearheaded a number of employee welfare programmes, offering more opportunities and chances for development to both existing staff and new entrants to the industry.

Fun fact: Traceylee was fortunate enough to visit Nelson Mandela’s prison cell and meet the man himself, an experience she describes as incredibly humbling.
