Role Profile: Aircraft Composite Repair Technician
Reports to: Base Maintenance Manager

Location: Twin Peaks, St Athan
Hours of Work: Seasonal Shift: Monday-Thursday 07:00 – 18:15. Friday 07:00 – 14:30. Attendance hours from 1 September to 31 May (+10 days refresher training every August)
Salary: Basic salary £41,515.34 per annum, plus £3,000.00 seasonal shift pay
Role Summary:
As a self-motivated Aircraft Composite Repair Technician, you will be using your experience for all aircraft maintenance activities, including scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, in addition to composite repairs in response to our customers’ requirements. Putting safety and quality first, you will ensure adherence to Health & Safety procedures whilst carrying out aircraft maintenance within the limits of our Company approvals
Main responsibilities:
- Carrying out maintenance of aircraft as defined by our customers’ requirements/List of Work.
- Carrying out repairs to composite airframe structure as per SRM.
- Maintaining the upkeep of the composite room and equipment and keeping all necessary records up to date including the composite procedures.
- Working in accordance with Company procedures giving due consideration to Human Factors philosophy, using only correctly maintained and uniquely identified personal tooling, Company tooling and calibrated test equipment.
- Managing internal and external relationships with Customers, team members and Support departments and taking an active role to mentor colleagues.
- Ensuring correct completion of all maintenance paperwork and forms in a timely manner before the end of the shift and in accordance with all aspects of the MOE Part 2 and procedures.
- Informing Engineers of any adverse issues affecting safety, productivity and progression of work.
- Ensuring any unused material is correctly processed and returned to Stores when practicable and following correct disposal instructions at all times.
- Ensuring correct storage of aircraft components and tooling including blanking, labelling and protection in accordance with Company procedures.
- Maintaining standard engineering practices regarding general husbandry, workplace cleanliness and FOD prevention measures.
Person Specification:
- Proven track record, typically achieved with 5 years minimum experience in aviation maintenance (including time served during an apprenticeship) within a Part 145 organisation.
- Evidence of recency on composite repairs within the last two years.
- Ability to read and understand engineering repair drawings.
- Ability to use recognised aircraft documentation, including the Aircraft Maintenance Manuals, Service Bulletins and Airworthiness Directives.
