Role Profile: Stores Person: Thurs – Sat
Reports to: Head of Planning and Supply Chain

Location: Twin Peaks, St Athan
Hours of work: Thursday – Saturday (inclusive), 07:00 – 17:45
Salary: £17,827 plus £2,250 shift premium per annum.

Role Summary:

The Stores Person contributes towards the efficient daily running of the stores department including inspection, receipt, storage, issue and shelf-life control of aircraft spares, tooling and associated equipment in accordance with current Supply Chain Procedures and EASA Part 145 requirements.

Main responsibilities:

  • Carry out the issues, return and loan of aircraft and ground use tooling including the management and control of all calibrated tools and equipment
  • Advise the Stores Supervisor or Stores Inspectors of any potential issues or problems with regards to the storage of aircraft spares, tooling and associated equipment
  • Ensure that all Stores related activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with relevant Health & Safety regulations
  • Ensure that all aircraft and ground use tooling is accounted for at the end of each shift/working day and report any missing or lost tooling to the Stores Supervisor, Stores Inspectors or Shift Manager immediately on discovering any loss or discrepancy
  • Ensure that all relevant safety precautions are observed when handling substances subject to COSHH requirements and that the Health & Safety Department are advised of any new additions of COSHH substances into stock
  • Ensure that all aircraft spares, tooling and associated equipment that has been declared as BER or scrap is clearly identified, withdrawn from service and segregated awaiting disposal in accordance with current Supply Chain Procedures
  • Carry out an annual audit of all aircraft & ground use tooling as directed by the Stores Supervisor and advise of the Stores Supervisor, Stores Inspectors or Shift Manager of any discrepancies or missing tools without delay
  • Carry out the issue and receipt of aircraft parts and associated equipment to and from the Bonded Stores
  • Carry out the issue of aircraft preload requirements to a pre-determined issue point within the engineering & production areas at the earliest opportunity
  • Advise the Stores Inspectors, Production & Procurement Departments of the receipt of any AOG, critical items or priority tooling without delay and assist in the Goods-In inspection and receiving process where required
  • Ensure that Batch Control and Shelf-Life Control measures are adhered to and that Life Expired materials are accounted for and disposed of in a safe manner in accordance with Supply Chain Procedures
  • Carry out annual stocktaking activities of aircraft parts and associated equipment as directed by the Stores Supervisor or Stores Inspectors
  • Prepare aircraft, ground use equipment & tooling for transportation by road/air including packaging and documentation
  • Ensure that the issue of commercial items is closely monitored and that any stores requirements are brought to the attention of the Stores Supervisor / Stores Inspectors for order action
  • Ensure that good housekeeping practices are adopted and that all Stores areas are kept in a clean and tidy condition at all times
  • Carry out any other stores related activities as deemed necessary by the Stores Supervisor or Stores Inspectors
  • Control and monitoring of calibrated tooling. Interpretation of calibration forecast reports and the delivery and acceptance of tooling requiring calibration to qualified providers
  • Any other tasks and duties as reasonably required in accordance with the needs of the business

Person Specification:

Essential:

  • GCSE qualifications (or equivalent) at grade C or above in Maths and English Language
  • Organisation skills – able to prioritise workload and tasks effectively
  • Strong communication skills – active listening and verbal skills
  • Drive to get the job done – driven to complete projects on time while maintaining high standards
  • Use initiative – thinks about new approaches and looks for ways to improve existing practises
  • Works to high standards - Thoroughness in accomplishing a task through concern for all the areas involved, no matter how small. Monitors and checks work.

Desirable:

  • Experience within a stores department
  • Experience within an aviation MRO environment
  • Dangerous goods knowledge
  • Fork lift license
