Role Profile – Planning Technician
Reports to: Head of Planning

Location: Twin Peaks, St Athan
Hours of Work: Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm, 37.5 hours
Salary: £30,090.11 per annum

Role Summary:

The Planning Technician is responsible for supporting the Planning Engineer to project manage the aircraft maintenance work packs to ensure compliance to all airworthiness requirements and to maximise aircraft serviceability. The Planning Technician will have experience of working within a Part 145 organisation and will be familiar with MBF, Airbus world, OASES and AMOS data platforms.

Main responsibilities:

  • Completes the build-up of the work pack in accordance with Company processes and procedures to ensure all relevant aircraft maintenance folders have been created.
  • Assembles the work pack received from the customer.
  • Provides analysis and stages the customer’s work pack and technical task cards.
  • Identifies CMT, CDCCL, EWIS, EZAP and ETOPS tasks.
  • Performs regular audits and updates to Lists of Work containing the final work scope.
  • Controls the Customer Query Log and revisions with regular communication with the Customer.
  • Writes staged Technical Task Cards to ensure all aspects of AD’s, SB’s & EO instructions are captured and understood. Highlighting relevant information in the Extended Narrative of the task cards.
  • Annotates and captures all required materials and tooling, adds this information to every task card and updates the List of Work.
  • Responsible for issuing the pre-load to Procurement and Stores Departments.
  • Prepares pre-input meetings prior to aircraft arrival ensuring meetings and their minutes are recorded in Centrik.
  • Review of ATL and all ADD’s when aircraft arrives and captures NRC’s and WCR’s.
  • Prints and audits all maintenance work packs for delivering to Production.
  • Ensures all MOE and customer procedures and processes are observed during project delivery by the Planning team.
  • Responsible for working in accordance with the company Framework, and compliance with the organisations policies, including participation in the management of risks (including completion of mandatory training) that may adversely affect the business, interests, or reputation of the Company.

Key requirements include:

  • Relevant experience in a Base Maintenance environment
  • Experience within a planning team within the aviation industry
  • Experience within an aviation MRO environment
  • Working knowledge of CAA and EASA Part 145 Regulations and CAP 562
  • A minimum of 5 GCSE’s, grade C or above, (or equivalent) including Maths and English Language
  • Mechanical engineering apprenticeship or other relevant aviation-based qualification
