Role Profile: Planning Assistant

Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, 8am - 4pm, 37.5 hours p/w
Salary: £24,720.80 per annum
Role Summary:
The role of Planning Assistant is to carry out aircraft maintenance planning activities and assist the Planning Engineers and Technicians to ensure that scheduled maintenance activities are prepared and completed in an expeditious and efficient manner, in accordance with Regulatory Authority requirements and company procedures. The Planning Assistant may also assist the Production Planning team with administrative duties.
Main responsibilities will include:
- On receipt of the List of Work (LOW), set up the Works Order and liaises with the Production Planning Engineer to collect all relevant information regarding aircraft maintenance manuals as defined in the Company’s Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) and published procedures.
- Responsible for issuing aircraft pre-input information to the Production team, before aircraft arrival.
- Assist the Production Planning engineer to close completed task cards in the maintenance system (OASES).
- Assists the Production Planning Engineer to complete paperwork correctly and to ensure required forms are attached as and where required, to comply with the Company MOE or planning procedures
- The Planning Assistant is responsible for the scanning and filing of all completed paperwork in accordance with planning procedures and processes and highlighting to the Production Planning Engineer, any discrepancies and issues.
- Responsible for ensuring all documentation raised in the Document Log is returned in preparation for the Certificate of Release to Service.
- Responsible for all maintenance documentation, ensuring it is fully completed and stored correctly including ensuring the Tech Log is on the aircraft in preparation for departure.
- Stores all aircraft maintenance documentation securely and ensures data is regularly updated during the input and cleared on aircraft departure.
- Adhered to Company procedures in completing task cards, undertaking general husbandry, and ensuring workplace cleanliness.
- Provides administrative support to the Planning Engineers and Planning Technicians as required.
- Recommends improvements in working conditions, practices and procedures which may result in an improvement in efficiency and/or morale.
Key requirements include:
- 5 GCSE qualifications Grade C or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English Language.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office – Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Basic administrative experience – filing, document scanning and managing version control is essential. Experience within a planning team within the aviation industry, particularly in a maintenance environment, would be desirable.
Desirable:
- Basic knowledge of CAA Part 145 Regulations
