Salary: £37,033.98 per annum
Role Summary:
As the Materials and Logistics Supervisor, you will actively contribute to the formulation, execution and evolution of procurement strategies related to part repairs and availability, leasing, licensing and logistics services. You will take ownership, responsibility and accountability for vendor selection and development.
Main responsibilities:
- To develop and execute procurement strategy to continuously reduce total cost of ownership and improve quality, standards and delivery performance of the services and products purchased.
- To lead procurement projects and contract negotiations with vendors on repair services, availability services, material supply, logistic services and licencing to achieve the defined targets.
- Oversee day-to-day logistics operations, including inbound/outbound shipment process management with support from the Stores Supervisor.
- To develop new supply sources and establish and manage supplier relationships.
- Research potential suppliers and develop appropriate Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
- Ensure all procurement of aircraft spares, tools, components and expendables are from compliance approved vendors and OEMs.
- Coordinate and manage logistics activities both in-house and via third parties to support maintenance projects.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts and payment terms with vendors to optimise cost saving, while ensuring quality and timely delivery is achievable.
- Ensure regulatory compliance with all purchase requirements complying with aviation regulations (CAA, EASA and FAA) and the company’s quality standards.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure supply chain operations align with company policies and business objectives.
- Support the Stores and Procurement Manager in goals expansion, adhering to timelines and KPIs, ensuring alignment with the company’s overall business objectives.
- To secure proper documentation management (approval and storage).
- Responsible for the customs clearance of aircraft spares and aircraft movement for maintenance projects and ensure proper customs documentation for audit purposes.
- To manage cross-functional expert teams assigned for procurement projects.
- To be the focal point and recognised procurement expert within the assigned spend area.
Key requirements include:
- Experience within an aviation MRO Part 145 (or equivalent) environment
- Previous work in MRO purchasing or supply chain experience
- Sourcing and contracting experience, with a proven track record in forecasting, replenishment, process improvement and time management
- Supervisory / lead role experience
- Supply chain management qualification or working towards acquiring a Supply chain qualification (Procurement & Logistics Diploma)
- Good standard of numeracy and literacy
- NVQ Level 4 in Leadership or equivalent
- Level 4 CIPS qualification desirable
- Excellent working knowledge of databases, ERP and MRP systems
