Role Profile Bay Manager
Reports to: Production Manager
Department: Production
Location: Twin Peaks, St Athan
Hours of Work: 46.25 per week Monday – Sunday; flexible around business requirements and aligned schedules with other Bay Managers.
Salary: £76,366.78 per annum, plus £13,000 Bay Manager Flex Seasonal Allowance 

Role Summary:

We have an exciting role available for a new Bay Manager. Reporting into the Production Manager, the Bay Manager is directly responsible for the management of Base Maintenance functions contained within the organisation’s approval.

Main responsibilities:

  • To ensure that contracted customer requirements are met at all times, and to ensure that full compliance with the contracted customer requirements are included as part of the final CRS process conducted prior to CRS Issue.
  • Ensures an efficient and cost-effective service during the overhaul/repair of the aircraft while complying with airworthiness and statutory requirements.
  • Ensures that the Ground Support Equipment of the base maintenance is maintained in serviceable condition. 
  • Ensures the implementation and observance of the company Health and Safety Policy, Procedures and Processes are maintained at all times. 
  • In the absence of the Production Manager, the Bay Manager is the main point of contact for internal and external Quality Audits of those areas and functions under their responsibility. 
  • Ensures that all staff follow Company Procedures when carrying out tasks on and off aircraft. 
  • Responsible for monitoring and ensuring that company and customer property is adequately housed, secured and maintained.
  • Overall responsibility and accountability for any allocated maintenance input and allocated bay, not limited, to but including check progress (Time, Quality, Resources and Costs).
  • Responsible for assuring timely execution of maintenance tasks in line with the agreed plan, whilst maintaining all associated company and legislative regulations.
  • Attends pre-input meetings related to projects and maintenance input assigned to their respective bay.
  • Manages effective deployment of staff to maximise efficiency of maintenance tasks.
  • Responsible for completion of the CRS at the end of check.
  • Maintains track of tooling and equipment used in their bay.
  • Monitors the competencies of staff, taking the necessary actions with the relevant support departments to ensure the assigned workforce is well trained and competent in their tasks, following Caerdav standard processes and procedures.

Key requirements include:

  • 5 years’ experience within an aviation MRO Part 145 (or equivalent) environment
  • Extensive knowledge of aviation regulations (EASA Part 145, Part 147, Part 66, Part 21, Part M)
  • Holds UK and/or EASA Part 66 B and C Licence approval on one or more of our types.
  • License holder must have the ability to obtain CRS approval as required for CRS duties on aircraft types.
  • Experience managing teams within a Part 145 base maintenance environment.
  • Excellent working knowledge of databases, ERP and MRP systems.
