Role Profile: Base Maintenance Manager

Role Summary:
An exciting opportunity for an experienced Base Maintenance Manager to join the senior team at Caerdav has opened up. We are looking for the right candidate, capable of utilising your extensive skills to carry out the function of both Base and Line Maintenance Manager in accordance with MOE 1.4.3.
Main responsibilities:
- The successful completion and certification of all work required by contracted operators/customers, in accordance with the work specification (Work order and approved MOE procedures).
- Making certain any work for internal workshops or external contracted / subcontracted organisations are correctly detailed in a work/contract and that the requirements of the contract/work order are fulfilled in respect of inspection.
- Providing feedback to compliance monitoring on services provided by contracted organisations, subcontractors.
- Responding to quality deficiencies arising from independent quality audits.
- Ensuring, through the workforce under their control, that the quality of work of the final product meets the standards acceptable to the organisation, the customer and the UK CAA and EASA.
- Carrying out the Emergency Response Plan responsibilities as specified in the CAL Safety Management Manual.
- Notification to the competent authority, as applicable according to the procedures established in the MOE, of maintenance activities conducted outside the approved locations.
- The administration and control of the Compliance and safety Management Department to ensure the provision of sufficient manpower to monitor the organisations compliance with the requirements of the (UK) CAA.
- Manage and support AOG enquiries
- Ensure the base maintenance facilities comply with Part 145 regulations and that the maintenance is performed in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Ensure all requested maintenance is performed in compliance with regulatory and company policy.
- Manage, and where appropriate update, the MOE in accordance with EASA or UK CAA requirements.
Key requirements include:
Essential:
- Demonstrate extensive experience in the management of Base and Line maintenance activities to Part 145 regulatory standards, including experience of both UK CAA and EASA regulation.
- The ability to hold a UK CAA Form 4 and EASA Nominated Person.
- UK CAA or EASA Part-66 AML (B1 or B2 with C rating).
- Demonstrable and Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe maintenance practices.
- Proven working knowledge of EASA Part 145, Part 66 and Part M requirements and national regulations.
- Working knowledge of management system requirements and their application (including safety management systems and compliance monitoring).
- Licensed Aircraft Engineer with type additions/Degree/HND equivalent.
Desirable:
- Certifying experience on aircraft within company scope.
- Experience of FAA, TCCA and other National Authority Approvals.
- Experience of Part 145 base maintenance management at an independent MRO.
- Certifying experience on aircraft within company scope.
- Previous UK CAA Form 4 holder/EASA Nominated Person.
