Role Profile Aircraft Support Worker
Reports to: Deputy Bay Manager
Department: Production
Location: Twin Peaks, St Athan
Working Week : Monday – Friday, 07:30 - 16:00
Salary: £23,785 per annum
Role Summary:
The Aircraft Support Worker will work within the service and maintenance department, helping to ensure the cleanliness of the aircraft, any removed components and that the hangar is maintained at all times.
Previous work experience as an aircraft cleaner is a significant advantage but not essential. Candidates must be able to demonstrate they can work safely and efficiently within an aviation environment and have the following skills:
Main responsibilities:
- Cleaning of passenger aircraft (internally and externally)
- Cleaning of aircraft parts and engineering components as instructed
- Exterior cleaning will involve paint cleaning and aluminium brightwork polishing – training will be provided
- Using specialised equipment to remove biohazardous materials from aircraft cabins
- Maintain cleanliness within the hangars, including floors and walkways
- Applying protective coverings to aircrafts and components as required
- Storing cleaning supplies in designated locations
- Ensure waste material bins are reported when full and useable rags are available
- Some facilities cleaning will be required, however the majority of this is carried out by other cleaners
Skills & Aptitude:
- Comfortable working at height when cleaning the aircraft externally (appropriate safety equipment will be provided)
- The ability to deal with pressure, juggling multiple priorities whilst maintaining attention to detail and ensuring high standards are maintained
- Able to follow instruction, whilst also displaying a can-do attitude with initiative to ensure all jobs required are completed in a timely manner
- An eye for detail and taking pride in your work
- Prepared to work as part of a team
